Anheuser-Busch InBev decided that now it’s time to buyout the remaining 68.8% of Kona Brewing and it’s other sister beer brands that make up the Craft Brew Alliance group of beers. It was back in August that Budweiser passed on an option to buyout all the brands and rather, just paid a $20 million one-time fee to get out of the contract they had to complete the purchase. If the buyout had happened in August, it would have cost AB InBev $328 million. By waiting until now, the buyout was $221 million plus the $20 million paid in August, saving them $87 million.
