A 2017 class action lawsuit against Craft Brew Alliance claims it “intentionally misleads consumers into believing that Kona Brewing Company beer is a local beer made in Hawaii.” While CBA’s Kona Brewing beer brand does brew small batches in it’s production facility in Hawaii, the majority of Kona Brewing brand beer is brewed in Craft Brew Alliance facilities in Portland, Oregon, Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and at an AB InBev owned brewery in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Today, a SEC filing shows that CBA has agreed to settle the class action lawsuit. Details of the settlement are expected on May 23rd.
